I had a dream about the intergalactic farmers market where all the vendors were vegetable people. My friend Marie ran up to me excitedly with an LP in her hands and exclaimed :THIS IS IT! It's what we've been looking for all this time!" The record was entitled Marveltine, or The Midnight Ocean, and the recording artist was listed as The Valiant Mockingbirds. I woke up and immediately grabbed a guitar. The song came out pretty much as is the first time. The first part of the song (Roundabout) is this little thing that got in my head one day, and I kept singing it at my coworker Andy while pinching my throat to make my voice all high and warbly, and continually telling him it was my pop masterpiece.

Round, round, roundabout round
Come little man, and dance on my pillow
Round, round, roundabout round
Dance through the night and ring in the day

Hyperdramatic overdrive, system shock revival. We're gonna shake shamanic suicide and celebrate survival. Yo! Psychic Sister! Save yr Mister! Swallow sound emotion! We're Marveltine Magnificent, we sail The Midnight Ocean! We Sail The Midnight Ocean!
My intergalactic ship sublime, the silver sun reflecting
I never ever wanna come down again, should secrets seek selecting
You're the one that I'm in love with! Set this wheel in motion!
When all are gone, here's a lonely song;
We sail The Midnight Ocean!
We sail The Midnight Ocean!
We sail The Midnight Ocean!

The lovely butterfly-dragons of Sona-Nyl are insectoid creatures with beautifully-patterned wings, insect-like legs and long, curved necks and tails. These creatures feed solely on nectar, fragrant odours and silence. If threatened, a butterfly-dragon responds by emitting a rose-coloured mist from glands along the sides of its body. Anyone inhaling or even touching this mist goes deaf. ... more
